A smart refrigerator designed in Sao Tome

smart-refrigeratorFirst steps to make smart refrigerators. The first phase of Think Big Schools took place last May and the institute was chosen to be Freixeiro Tome IES. About thirty students at the school launched their imagination to provide solutions to real problems.
Some of them were described yesterday by Joan Cross as "exceptional" and, among others, an application which allows the refrigerator to notify if any products would expire. "It was only one year that Siemens was working on the idea, and they managed to evolve it so that the notice reached the phone," he says.

"The intention is to launch their creative potential to invent things, but also to make them land on daily life. Aids you concretize and make theoretical exercise to turn that idea into a project," he explains.

The Tome students also developed a virtual cookbook based on the products that we keep in the fridge and pantry or a program that connects to a medical service to see if we really should go to the emergency.
